My Why, Background and Experience
My name is Christine Nagelhout and I am a Chicago native who has lived in Colorado for over half of my life, a place I now call home. I attended University of Northern Colorado for my BA in Kinesiology, minor in Biology and also obtaining my certification as an Athletic Trainer. I attended Northern Illinois University for my MS Ed, emphasis in Sport Management. My job experience is diverse, including orthopedics, osteopathy, and most recently over 24+ years in outpatient physical therapy as part of the clinical staff. I have acquired my Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) designation in 2020.
My first experience working with a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) was in 2018, when my dad decided it was time to move from my childhood home after 52+ years to an independent living environment. My family and I were connected with a CSA in Chicago through a family friend. Julianne was professional, objective and handled my large family of five siblings with expertise and ease. She was attentive and compassionate to my dad, as well as to my sisters and I. She made a point of “interviewing” both my dad and the family, documenting likes/dislikes, health needs and preferences of location. She set up facility tours, joined us on the tours and assisted us in this huge decision-making process. She was instrumental in our process and to the success of the transition.
I was touched by the care my dad and my family received during this potentially stressful and emotional time. It struck me how every family faced with a voluntary or involuntary transition could benefit from having an objective and empathetic person to assist during their transition. Every family deserves the same level of dignified care that my family received.
I started working with Senior Care Advising in 2020 throughout the Denver, Colorado metro area. I have worked with Older Adults in every aspect of my career, in managing their healthcare and well-being. I have treated, listened to and advised patients over the past 30+ years in the medical field and have a big heart for helping people.
My personal philosophy is that every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, treated the way I want my own family treated. I would be honored to have the opportunity to serve the Older Adult community with their transitions needs.
Mission Statement
My commitment is to provide honest, empathetic guidance to families and individuals seeking a transition to a next phase senior living community. I pledge to advocate for my clients, balancing my client’s healthcare needs with the amenities that are important to them. I will treat each client and their family members with genuine respect, compassion and integrity, just as I would treat my own family members. I will provide high quality, mindful options for every single transition, and assist in establishing a sense of belonging for the individual in their new home.
